The IDFB*E series offers users two key advantages: it is environmentally friendly, with special refrigerants that prevent damage to the ozone layer; and it is corrosion-resistant, due largely to its stainless steel, plate-type heat exchanger.

Cost-effective means of air provision

Refrigerated air dryers give users a cost-effective means of providing air with pressure dew points of three to ten degrees Celsius. In this way, they meet the requirements of ISO moisture classes 4 to 6. All of these units have compact and quiet construction, stainless steel heat exchangers, refrigerants that comply with Montreal Protocol, and low pressure drops. Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. offers models that are available to meet different regional requirements, such as those in Europe or North America, in standard inlet temperature designs and high inlet temperature models..

To meet the standards of Montreal Protocol regulations for protecting the earth’s ozone layer, SMC’s IDFB*E series uses refrigerants R134a and R407C; the medium-size series uses R22. These refrigerated air dryers can accommodate an inlet temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. Other features of this series include the following:

• UL certification for use in North America.
• 60-Hertz operation.
• Maximum inlet air temperature of 49 degrees Celsius.
• Availability in flow ratings up to 510 cubic metres per hour (ANR) at three degrees Celsius PDP.
• Standard connectivity for NPT threads, with R/Rc adapters also available.

Ten different sizes of the IDFB*E series are available, as well as three different voltages (11, 23, and 46). SMC also offers these units in three different colours – grey, red, and amber.
