MiR autonomous mobile robots are now available in the Ontario market.

Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. is always extending its lineup, including new robotic equipment. Last year, the supplier began partnering with Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) to offer its autonomous mobile robots (AMR) in Eastern Canada. The organization is now pleased to offer the complete breadth of the MiR product line to the Ontario marketplace. These autonomous robots maximize productivity by optimizing workflows in manufacturing and logistics.

No other producer on the worldwide market offers as wide a variety of AMRs as MiR does, with payloads from 100 to 1,000 kilograms.

Founded in the 1960s as a small engineering firm focused on personal service and smart, customized solutions, Banner Engineering has grown into a globally recognized leader in automation. Today, Banner launches hundreds of products a year and offers the industry’s widest selection of high-quality automation. A Banner sensor is installed somewhere in the world every 3½ seconds.

Safety, flexibility, and efficiency

Since its establishment in May 2013, MiR has launched a new robot product every year to meet demand. All of these autonomous robots are designed to optimize workflows, from transporting small part to automatically moving heavy loads and pallets. AMRs boost efficiency in employees by freeing them to focus on tasks with more value. They decrease lead times, reduce the risk of bottlenecks, and maximize safety.

MiR cites several advantages of using these autonomous robots. AMRs collaborate with employees safely, while avoiding dynamic and static obstacles and complying with safety standards. With an open platform, they are easy to customize with various top modules; out-of-the-box solutions are available. Another benefit is fast, central configuration of robot fleets, plus efficiently coordinated traffic flows between AMRs. Shared data make adding new AMRs to fleets easy.

Navigating in highly dynamic environments, AMRs choose the most efficient paths and determine alternative routes when required, using multiple pickup and delivery points. Another advantage: fast, cost-effective deployment without disruption to processes or layout. AMRs can be programmed with a user-friendly interface, with no programming experience necessary. They fit into most environments and move in narrow spaces, drive up ramps, and take elevators. Changing setup is simple when environments or processes evolve.

The following MiR AMRs are available from Advanced Motion & Controls:

  • MiR1000. Optimizes internal transportation of pallets and heavy loads.
  • MiR500. Automates internal transportation of heavy loads and pallets easily and cost-efficiently.
  • MiR250. Smaller footprint and height for narrow places with payload of up to 250 kilograms.
  • MiR200 and MiR100. Automates internal transportation and logistics easily and cost-efficiently.
