The HyperCyl EMA electric actuator by AEC

For 25 years, Aries Engineering Co. (AEC) has manufactured HyperCyl hydra-pneumatic cylinders, servo actuators, and standalone press systems for a broad range of assembly and forming applications. Available in Canada from Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd., these products offer high speed, precision, and power with innovative technology in air/oil intensification.

AEC has based HyperCyl products by listening to customer feedback on quality, problem-solving solutions, and other needs. The result is a lineup that serves many businesses in the automotive, medical, aerospace, electronics, and appliance sectors.

Three product series available

Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. offers three product series within this brand. The HyperCyl EMA series of electric actuators consists of robust, servo-driven devices designed for precision assembly and other applications not suitable for standard HyperCyl or IntelliCyl products. These actuators offer a new level of price/performance for tasks in many industries, including aerospace, the medical field, transportation, electronics and DOD. They are available in Roller Screw and Ball Screw configurations, in load ratings from five to 230 kilonewtons. Features include standard internal non-rotate features and load cells, over-travel limit switches, and Emerson UniMotors.

The HPI series inline cylinder is a completely self-contained, cost-effective power source recommended for many assembly and forming tasks. This device is designed to offer the greatest force per dollar invested, with sizes from one to 200 tons, a stroke of up to eight inches, and a power stroke of one inch. Other advantages include total air/oil separation, linear force output, three moving components, internal shock pads, simple control circuits, fill and high-pressure gauge couplings, heavy-duty construction, and 100,000-PSI tensile tie rods. Users can operate this cylinder in any position or attitude.

AEC also produces HyperCyl hyperpress machines and standalone stations. Variations include C-frame or H-frame presses and CGB low-profile presses. C-frame design presses are primarily for assembly and forming applications requiring open fronts for ease of part loading and unloading, while H-frame presses are for tasks needing pass-through designs. The CGB is a compact, high-performance press with a bench-top design for high force and a small footprint.
