Vectis Automation COBOT Plasma Cutting Tool is ideal for flat and 3D metalworking

The Vectis Automation COBOT Plasma Cutting Tool

Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. carries the innovative Vectis Automation COBOT Plasma Cutting Tool, recommended for boosting productivity in any welding and metalworking shop. Affordable and user-friendly, this tool is a fully integrated robotic plasma cutter with do-it-yourself (DIY) programming and setup that offers high leverage, while saving costs, lowering risk, and reducing setup time significantly.

This extreme ease of use and flexibility means that this Vectis solution can be conveniently applied to most flat and 3D metalworking processes.

Integrated onto a mobile cart

The Vectis cobot plasma cutter is powered by a Universal Robots collaborative robot arm and a Hypertherm plasma cutter, and it comes with the Let’s Cut Together intuitive programming interface that simplifies training and technical support. Available from Advanced Motion & Controls, the system is fully integrated onto a mobile cart, so the user can bring the tool to the work or the work to the tool. The easy DIY programming and setup means that customers can begin metalworking within hours of installation.

Other helpful features of this Vectis tool for plasma cutting: extreme ease of use powered by the Vectis URCap package, so no coding or programming experience is required; portability and versatility, with a mobile cart and safe cobot arm; no dedicated footprint or anchoring; cutting parameter control on the pendant- and shape-cutting capability; low all-in cost, including shipping; and lifetime technical support.

This fully integrated, ready-to-cut system is packaged on a portable modular fixturing cart with the cobot mounted and electrically isolated to the tabletop surface. A robust Hypertherm Duramax torch is mounted to the robot flange with a button that allows the user to enable Freedrive mode easily. The plasma cutter and cabinet are housed safely under the tabletop surface, and the system has a controls interface between the cabinet and cutting equipment to control current, kerf compensation, pierce parameters, bevel parameters, and supervisory signals.

With URCap, non-programmers can quickly, easily program sever cuts, bevels, shapes, and compound shapes with a simple programming interface. URCap also incorporates usability and robustness features like arc supervision, error handling, cut library management, and TCP calculation.
